Driving behavior: how does it work?

We record the braking events that occur during your journeys and their intensity. The tendency towards hard braking is rated in a class score (A to E). The softer the braking phases, the better your score.

How are braking events detected?

The accelerometer measures the intensity of the smartphone's perceived accelerations and decelerations. The smartphone's gyroscope allows us to detect the direction of these accelerations and decelerations. Our algorithms combine these two data sources to detect braking events and classify them as normal or abrupt.

How is the tendency to abrupt braking measured?

This is simply the percentage of abrupt braking out of the total number of brakes detected.
